Our Work — Animikii Indigenous Technology

Our Work

We Seek out Impactful Projects

Since 2003, we have worked almost exclusively with Indigenous communities, organizations and entrepreneurs. Our social-impact stats for 2015 include clients from 16 Non-Profits, 8 Indigenous Communities, 5 Indigenous Businesses, 4 Health Organizations and 3 Educational Institutions. Our goal for 2016 is to grow our impact and so far we are on track (updated: June 2016). If you have a project that fits our criteria, we'd love to hear from you.

What it's like to work with us

We are particular about the projects we take. We thrive in trusting, long-term relationships. We dig deep, explore opportunities and execute on ideas worth doing. Communication and understanding is of utmost importance when starting a new project. Our first goal is to listen and provide our clients the time and space to share their vision and goals. Sometimes our clients have a clear vision where they need to be and which technologies are required however often times we are brought in to develop an effective technology plan from the ground up.

Featured Projects

"I have had the pleasure of working with Jeff and the Animikii team on a number of projects. In all cases, Jeff and his team have been responsive, professional and have delivered a high quality product. They are a great bunch to work with!"

Ry Moran, TRC

"Jeff Ward is a committed professional, a man of his word, creative, reliable, and always going the extra mile. He gently assisted us when we didn’t know what we were talking about, he thoughtfully developed software that enabled us to build and expand when we needed to, and he made a tough subject area inviting, creative, practical, and easy to navigate."

Leslie Varley, Director Aboriginal Health, Provincial Health Services Authority in BC

"It was great getting to know you and thank you again for your patience and perseverance in creating the new database system for the First Citizens Fund. I am very impressed with your work and will recommend you to anyone."

John Harper, MARR

"The team at Animikii Inc. is incredibly responsive to our software needs at Provincial Health Services Health Authority Aboriginal Health. When we began a new project focusing on Indigenous Youth Wellness for 10 to 12 year olds, Animikii Inc. custom built a platform to our unique specifications. We continue to collaborate with Animikii Inc. as we appreciate the level of professionalism, responsiveness and culturally competent service we receive from them. "

Nancy Laliberte, Leader Cuystwi Youth Welllness, PHSA Aboriginal Health

"We have been working with Jeff and Animikii for more than year and it's been a breeze. The website is easy to use and to modify and Jeff is always keen to help us learn and to answer our questions. We just renewed our contract and we will be happy to work with this company for the years to come."

Native Womens Association of Canada

"We've worked with Animikii for over 10 years now - the custom software Animikii built for Cando saves our staff time on a daily basis in managing our membership and conference registrations. We recommend Jeff because he is highly capable and very professional, and also has a vested interest in the Aboriginal economic development community being an Aboriginal entrepreneur himself. Jeff has been also nominated to Cando’s National Youth Panel several years ago and is a great mentor to Aboriginal youth.”

Svitlana K., Manager, Administrative Services

"It takes a unique individual to work a company that serves multiple users. Jeff championed the development of ANTCO’s website which we continue to receive great feedback on from our clients and associates Jeff is approachable, patient; respectful & professional and we see him as an excellent resource which ANTCO continues to use. Jeff continues to follow up with us at the ANTCO office, is always quick to respond, and is always available to assist the staff with being able to update and maintain the website.”

Tracy Armstrong, ANTCO

"Animikii worked with us to develop a website that helped us meet our communications and outreach goals. Animikii staff provided on-site one-on-one training with all of our program leads so that they can share in the website updates and keep our information current. We continue to work with them on various web initiatives and the support they provide is outstanding. We would highly recommend Jeff and Animikii for any aboriginal organizations that need a web presence and want to maintain it themselves. The fact that they are an Aboriginal company is also a plus.”

Linda Day, Vancouver Native Health Society

"I’ve been working with Jeff Ward for over a decade, using the tools and services provided by Animikii. His content management system has made it easy and cost-effective to maintain a professional-quality website. I definitely recommend Animikii for your technology needs."

Wayne K. Spear, former Communications Director (the Aboriginal Healing Foundation) and communications consultant.

"I met Jeff at a national aboriginal gathering in 2003, and was immediately impressed with his fluency in digital communication. Having successfully resisted the dawn of the digital era up to that point, I was reluctant to enter the mysterious realm of the internet, but Jeff instilled the trust I needed to make the step, and I haven’t had a moment’s regret over making that decision. I’ve been continuously self-employed on reserve for 40 years, a key factor being keeping a close eye on business expenses. In my opinion, his service is my best cost to value ratio annual purchase."

Stewart Steinhauer, granite carver, Saddle Lake Cree Nation

“Jeff Ward through Animikii Inc. took the time to listen to what Nicomen Indian Band wanted for their website. Through his patience and excellent website building team, all of Nicomen Indian Band expectations were exceeded. When another First Nation or organization requires a website built, I will strongly recommend them to Mr. Ward and Animikii Inc. The greatest gift that Jeff Ward left with us is our ability to “own” our website and make the necessary updates ourselves and the commitment for on-going support from Animikii Inc. if we should require them”

Jeff Munroe, Band Manager, Nicomen Indian Band
