Business Development Strategist

We are seeking a Business Development Strategist to support our growth, business development activities, and help us expand to new markets. We need a multidisciplinary individual that can actively participate in our full business development process and directly support the expansion of our team, services & products.

On an average day, this person could expect to:

  • Learn Animikii’s products, services, social impact goals, target markets and partners.
  • Lead customer development and proactive outreach efforts, including generating leads, attracting new clientele, participating in sales meetings, writing proposals, and following up with active leads.
  • Attend meetings with prospective clients, record notes and ask questions to ascertain scope, identify unknowns, get a sense for budget and what solutions we might propose.
  • Negotiate proposals and contracts with organizations seeking services and products.
  • Develop sales forecasts and strategic planning to scale.
  • Develop and plan advertising campaigns and then execute your plan.
  • Create videos, ads, brochures, reports and other sales/marketing materials.
  • Evaluate sales & marketing results against sales targets, costs, and other metrics.
  • Prepare reports, briefs, speeches, presentations, RFP responses, proposals, website content and press releases.
  • Represent Animikii at trade shows, conferences, public speaking or networking events.
  • Write blog posts and promote public events you attend on Animikii’s behalf.
  • Arrange interviews, news conferences, public events, and PR outreach.
  • Support our giving-back program through pro-bono time, volunteering, workshop delivery or other social impact initiatives that are important to the team.
  • Provide direct support to the Animikii team, wear many hats and jump in wherever needed as the company expands.

  • Degree in business or equivalent experience.
  • Motivated self-starter; ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate, consult and build relationships with prospective clients, existing clients and partners.
  • Exceptional public speaking and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication, energy, self-confidence and creative thinking.
  • Experience working in a remote-friendly company, using online tools and software.
  • Experience and a demonstrated interest in working with Indigenous communities.
  • Individuals who are interested to implement Animikii’s core values through the 7 Sacred Teachings  (Humility, Truth, Honesty, Wisdom, Respect, Courage and Love).
