Each year the BC Achievement Foundation brings together leading Indigenous entrepreneurs and businesses from across the province to gather in a celebration of excellence and success with the Indigenous Business Awards (IBA). By recognizing the importance of these individuals, companies, and organizations, the IBA aims to nourish future growth in the Indigenous community through amplifying the voice of Indigenous Peoples within the business world.
Have a business or entrepreneur in mind? You can nominate them for one of the following categories:
Young Entrepreneur of the Year
For the young entrepreneur operating an existing business, this award recognizes the sole owner of a business that’s been in operation for at least two (2) years. Nominees must be 35 years of age or younger to qualify for this category.
Business of the Year
This award is given to 3 different sub categories based on the number of people employed with the business: 1-2 employees, 3-10 employees and 11+ employees.
Nominees must be at least 51% Indigenous owned.
Community-Owned Business of the Year
Every community can benefit from a strong economic foundation, which is what this category is all about! This award recognizes both Community-owned one entity, and Community-owned two or more businesses.
Nominees must be 100% owned by the community.
Business Partnership of the Year
Teamwork makes the dreamwork. This award recognizes businesses owned by two or more entities.
Recipients in the Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Business of the Year categories are awarded $2500 each. And every IBA awardee receives a Recognition film produced by BC Achievement, and medallion and pin designed by BC First Nations artist Robert Davidson.
The Indigenous Business Awards deadline has been extended until Saturday, July 10th! Elevate excellence in the Indigenous business community.
Winners will be announced in October!
