Animikii had the honour of collaborating with the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre to design artwork and information panels for the We Are Our Language exhibit, in celebration of 2019 as the Year of Indigenous Languages.
The Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre sits along the banks of the Chu Niikwän (Yukon River) and marks the return of Indigenous Peoples to their traditional home. Through this facility, the Kwanlin Dün First Nation maintains its tradition of welcoming others to experience, respect and enjoy the lands and waters in their territory. They offer various programs to the community including Moosehide to Moccasins, Sewing Circle, moose hair tufting, and artists-in-residence.
The Kwanlin Dün Cultural Center is a place for members of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation to celebrate and share their history, traditions and culture with fellow Yukoners and visitors from around the world.
